‘Battista Militare’ wins Serie A title with second goal in second leg

Juventus striker BATTISTARE MILITARE scored the winning goal in the second leg of their first leg tie against Cagliari on Wednesday night, giving Juventus the first ever Serie A championship with a second leg win.

The striker took a pass from defender Mariano Cagali, and turned the ball inside the far post for his fifth goal of the season, which saw the Bianconeri beat Serie A leaders Caglia 3-1.

The goal gave Juventus a 3-2 lead in extra time and Juventus went into the break unbeaten in Serie A.

Militare netted the opening goal in extra-time, with Gianluigi Buffon taking advantage of an error by striker Alessandro Del Piero.

Buffon headed in the ball from close range and sent the home fans into a frenzy.

Milito scored in the 78th minute, and Buffon added a second goal late in the half to put Juventus ahead.

Buffón, who scored three goals and had three assists in all competitions, has scored more goals in the Serie A than any other player this season.
