
More than 40,000 cars sold in Michigan over Thanksgiving holidays

The automaker says the sale exceeded expectations.
The company says more than 42 million were sold during the holiday weekend.
The sales represent a 26 percent increase over the year-ago holiday and are the most ever in a single day.
That was the most sales in the company’s history.
In all, about 2.7 million vehicles were sold at least once, according to the company.
The annual average sales were up nearly 30 percent from last year, when 2.3 million vehicles.
The total number of vehicles sold rose by more than 2 million to 3.6 million.
Sales were up about 10 percent over last year’s holiday period, according the company, which has about 8,400 U.S. dealerships.
