‘We’re doing everything we can’ to keep Valencia building materials safe for residents
By DAVID LYONS, Associated Press The building materials used to build a high-rise condo in a Valencia suburb are being used to construct a community center, a school and a community garden.
The Valencia Building Materials Co. said it’s taking action to keep its materials safe from a chemical attack by the Syrian government.
The company said Tuesday it will be using materials from a military site to build the complex, which will be about 1,800 feet tall and have an average floor area of more than 8,500 square feet.
It said the material used to make the building materials will be used for the complex and the community center.
The complex includes a community room with a kitchen, living room and gymnasium, and a classroom with classrooms and an auditorium.
The complex will include a museum, an aquarium, a museum with a museum of art, a science lab, a theater, a gym and a theater.
The materials are being shipped to Syria by a contractor, who will bring the materials to the United States.
The company said it will provide support to the Syrians and U.S. military by providing a secure facility and supplies.
The chemical weapons attack in April left dozens dead and thousands wounded.
